I agree that complaining alone won’t change anything, and that some women choose poorly. But, without the complaining, people thought everything was fine, and women would go unbelieved most of the time, or be re-traumatized by the failed process of seeking justice. So complaint and protest are PART of the solution. For every civil rights movement, complaint and protest are part of the solution.
Also, women don’t get a choice about the bosses, coworkers, neighbors and local strangers that harass and sexually abuse us, so again, what should we do about that? Wait for the government?
At some point, PEOPLE who want to see fewer hurt (and therefore angry) women and girls, will have to step up. Because complaining (women) and complacency (men) just won’t cut it.
Maybe you can be big enough to see that this is a human rights issue, not Mars versus Venus.
