Most young women I know have zero desire to be pregnant and have their bodies change, nor do they see fulfillment in caring for babies and small children. It’s not about economics, career, or any of that. They’ve seen what pregnancy and motherhood is like first hand, and just don’t want it.

I don’t blame them. Pregnancy was horrible, the medical establishment was the WORST, and the process left me permanently injured and traumatized, and unwilling to even consider having another. This is a lot of mothers’ experience, and our daughters were watching. Who wants a broken, saggy body, c-section scars that hurt for years, or permanent incontinence? Only to watch that child inherit a world that is rapidly and visibly going to hell in a handbasket?

I don’t blame the child-free one bit.
