Personally my 52-yo hair is quite long, but that’s because it looks best on my face that way. I’d cut it, but alas I don’t have the skull for short hair. I think you’re overthinking this. Menopausal-age women often cut their hair because it has thinned terribly. Also we’re *very tired* of centering the male gaze, and really don’t care as much what we look like anymore, so maintaining long hair is a PIA for a lot of us. Many of us also no longer have a libido and being sexually attractive is the last thing on our minds. Hair is for those with enough hormones to give a shit.
