Um, it’s not “living like a poor person.” It’s a week long camping trip in the desert, focused on art and creativity in primitive, difficult conditions.

If you don’t like camping in extreme conditions, great. If you’re idea of a good vacation is a hotel on the beach, you do you. But SOME of us like camping, like festivals, and like what the extreme conditions on the playa bring out in us.

Some of us actively dislike “feeling like a princess” and being pampered, and we go to the Burn precisely to have the exact opposite experience.

You don’t have to get it. I don’t get hotels and bubble baths, and probably never will. But I don’t deign to tell you maybe you’d be happier without the things you love.

Burners are not your tribe, and camping and harsh nature are not your thing—so move on already.
